 Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal located in the southern part of the city on Hawa Mahal Rd, Badi Choupad is one of the Most prominent and renowned Palace of pink city. Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh constructed this palace in 1799. He belonged to Kachhwaha Rajput. As its name stands "Hawa Mahal" for air it has 953 windows or 'Jharokhas' with 50 feet of height from its base. The building of this palace is colored pink and white with pyramid shape. Maharaja Sawai Singh was very devoted to lord krishna, so the palace construction was designed to look a like as lord's crown. All windows of Mahal was desiged to see the street view and to facilitate the royal women to view city.

However, they were keen to follow the day-to-day events and royal processions occurring on the streets. It is for their benefit that the Hawa Mahal was built, complete with small windows and screened balconies. This gave the women a sense of freedom, without appearing in public. The top offers stunning views over Jantar Mantar and the City Palace in one direction and over Sireh Deori Bazaar in the other.

Palace was constructed of red and pink sandstones.
There’s a small museum (Saturday to Thursday), with miniature paintings and some rich relics, such as ceremonial armour, which give one a glimpse of the rich past.

The city of Jaipur is well-connected with other Indian cities by air, rail and road and also with some international cities by air. The Jaipur International Airport is situated at Sanganer, a southern suburb at a distance of 13 kilometres from Jaipur.

The brilliantly conceived design, style and construction of the mahal made it the favourite resort of Maharaja Jai Singh and became famous as his masterpiece.
